I had plastic surgery done by a doctor who I later found out is NOT a plastic surgeon. He has been sued a few times already I found out after looking him up on the Virginia physicians website. I now have disfigurement on my abdominal area which have not gone away yet and the lipo was done in April 2008.
I went to a plastic surgeon about that and another thing and he said he had never seen blotches like that before and that they were probably caused by the lipo being done too close to the skin instead of going deeper for the fat located farther below the skin, 2 layers I believe he said. I do not know if these blotches are now permanent and he did not say either but that I should wait another year to see if it goes away. What do I do?
Answer: the reality is that minor disfigurement is probably not worth pursuing in a medical malpractice case. Of course, each case is different and you should consult with an experienced board certified expert (something you apparently didn’t do when you chose your doctor) before deciding what to do with your case.
